Weird genes when it comes to having a homely baby?

I am not talking about my children because I don't have children. My friend child got her mothers nose, but her dads small eyes, and small forehead. her lips are bigger and has a pointy chin. She is nine years old and they say she will grow into her face when she becomes a teenager. Has anyone ever seen genes work against parents. IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE RUDE AND CALL ME NAMES dont bother answering. I am just curious.
