Brain hemorrhage question?

My dad fell down some stairs on friday (3 days ago) but at the bottom by the door was a concrete step which he hit his head off. His back and neck are fine now, he can move his legs and arms - everything like that but his speech is slurred and he seems to struggle to find words he wants to say and he only responds by nodding or shaking this head or simple yes and no. He is drinking water but refusing food and he is still very confused. Its confirmed he has bleeding on the left side of the brain - are these symptoms normal at this stage and will he make a full recovery?
