Emotional Letter to dad?

You are in a tough spot there. I would probably write the letter to my father but I wouldn't give him an ultimatum. People are who they are and you are asking him to change how he is and how he views things to suit you. He won't stop loving you but thinks highly of what the community thinks of your family and how you follow tradition. You are not trying to change your fathers mind but that of your culture. I think your dad is trying to say that a self made man stands a better chance of doing that. Make your way in the world and it will be yours to make.
